Fluent + NanoGPT: a native Mac AI assistant with built-in NanoGPT support

Fluent + NanoGPT: a native Mac AI assistant with built-in NanoGPT support

We're happy to announce a partnership with Fluent, a native macOS AI assistant that brings AI models into every Mac app you use. Fluent now ships with a built-in NanoGPT integration, and Fluent users get an exclusive 10% discount on all text models routed through NanoGPT.

What is Fluent?

Fluent is a macOS-exclusive app built around a simple idea: AI assistance should feel native, fast, non-distracting, and pleasant to use. Instead of switching to a browser tab or a separate chatbot, you summon Fluent's Smart Panel inside whatever app you're working in. It captures relevant context - your selection, clipboard, or window content - and runs customizable actions with the model of your choice.

Because it's truly native, Fluent stays light on memory, battery-efficient, and buttery-smooth. Your history is stored locally with encryption, and there's no telemetry - a privacy stance that fits NanoGPT users well.

What's new in Fluent 1.9

Fluent recently shipped version 1.9, one of its biggest upgrades yet:

  • New context workflow: attach actions, files, browser tabs, apps, integrations, tools, variables, and memory items directly to your prompt, with fast fuzzy-search suggestions.
  • Chat UI: a full conversation interface with history sidebar, search, pinning, renaming, deleting, and forking - so you no longer need a separate chatbot app alongside Fluent.
  • Council mode: instead of relying on a single model's output, multiple models blindly peer-review each other, correct mistakes, and surface different perspectives before a chairman model synthesizes the final answer. Great for writing, research, and anything where answer quality really matters.
  • Better visibility into what your requests are doing, plus stability and performance improvements across the app.

Voice control and dictation, agents with skills, and sync between devices are on the roadmap.

The NanoGPT integration

Fluent supports many providers, but the NanoGPT integration is built to be the most complete way to use it:

  • One key, 500+ models: instead of juggling separate OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini accounts, a single NanoGPT API key gives Fluent access to every model we carry - including TEE (private inference) models.
  • 10% discount: Fluent users get an exclusive 10% discount on all text models routed via NanoGPT.
  • Custom integration features: balance tracking, request cost tracking, and model card pricing right inside Fluent, so you don't have to leave the app for the important stuff.

Free NanoGPT credit with new Fluent purchases

New Fluent orders made from June 1 through September 30, 2026 include free NanoGPT credit:

  • Basic ($49, one Mac): $5 in NanoGPT credit
  • Standard ($69, two Macs): $10 in NanoGPT credit

The credit is included with your Fluent purchase, so you can start using models right away without a separate deposit. Fluent licenses are one-time purchases with lifetime upgrades - no subscription.

How to get started

  1. Get Fluent at fluentmac.app.
  2. Visit our Fluent page and sign in (or stay anonymous - neither Fluent nor NanoGPT requires an email).
  3. We generate an API key for you, apply your discount and any included credit, and deep-link you straight back into Fluent's provider setup.

That's it - every model on NanoGPT, available in every app on your Mac.
